If you are considering to become a makeup artist you are probably asking this question your self, your friends, bloggers, google and all other possible sources. If you do so, you are on the right track to choose a good makeup school for YOU. There are so many schools off-line/online and not to mention YouTube and IG channel. What is the RIGHT CHOICE? Check all the important steps for your journey here.

STEP 1 | DO YOUR RESEARCH

Are you starting from ground 0 or are you already confident in applying makeup on OTHER people? If you are a beginner make sure to choose a school which will educate you in the smallest details. Choosing someone who is not used to teach Fundamentals will make you loose your time and money leaving you with nothing. If you are already experienced Makeup artist (then you are probably not reading this anyway) choose an Instructor who got some mad technical detailed skills which you might want to improve for your self. Take a bike, bus or a plain if needed but go for it, if you chose the right one it will be WORTH IT

STEP 2 | STUDY THE PROFILE

Find a school and then have a look on their Social Media. Does it have a lot of their students work or is it just teachers work? Do YOU find these works inspiring or is it just some simple looks? Remember if the school is based on a Celebrity name it will not guarantee a good education or a better network.
Study the profile of that school.

STEP 3 | YOUR MAKEUP INSTRUCTOR

Do not be shy to ask who will be your Makeup Instructor and most importantly how many YEARS of experience the Instructor has. Is the instructor busy with makeup jobs outside the school or you will be educated by someone who does not work much as a Makeup Artist in real life? Finally, where is your instructor educated?

STEP 4 | HOW MANY HOURS

How intense is your education? If you study only a few hours a week (even if it is a whole year!) Unfortunately it will slow down your development. This line of profession is all about practicing till your legs are tired of standing! Then the magic will start happening and you will be able to feel that CONFIDENCE to actually work with other people, who will demand your professionalism.
